Adventure Factor: 5/5
Embark on an epic offshore passage sailing over 700 nautical miles from the historic Spanish port of A Coruña all the way back to Ipswich! This adventurous voyage is the club's longest of the summer.
Departing from A Coruña on the northwest coast of Spain, you'll point the bow northward and prepare for an exhilarating long-distance open water sailing experience. This non-stop 700+ NM passage will take you through the Bay of Biscay, the English Channel, and finally up to the River Orwell in Suffolk.
Be ready for night sailing under the stars, potential ocean wildlife sightings, streaks of bioluminescence, and building robust offshore skills and confidence. You'll sail a rotating watch schedule as you make your way up the Atlantic coasts of Spain, France, and England.
This is a fantastic mile-building and experience-building voyage for those eager to develop serious blue water passagemaking abilities.
